My name is Maeve and I am working on a project with three other students at the Rhode Island School of Design. We are very open to working either high-tech or low-tech and would like to hear what opportunities you see for new products for the visually impaired. We are wondering what the main challenges might be in raising a child with visual impairment.

My daughter is going to turn 3 in 3 months. She is completely blind with LCA. I am planning her first big birthday party since she will actually be old enough to care about it this year! I want her party to be a fun sensory experience. Any and all ideas are welcome.

I would love to know at how old are blind kids ready to start going to school?

I have a partially sighted baby who is 1 year 4 months old. I would love to know when she can start going to school.

And how I can get the best toys for her since in our country we can hardly find any.

Our son is just turning 2 and totally blind. We were trying to come up with some cool ideas to decorate his "new toddler/big boy" room. Although I've scanned the internet, and I've tried to use my imagination, it has only gotten me so far. I was wondering if any of you had any thoughts or suggestions to send my way. Maybe share some of the ways you've decorated your kids' room.
