What signs have you taught your child and do you have one for 'wait' (interrupting a conversation)?

Ellie is becoming increasingly fussy and vocal when Mummy has a conversation with another adult or is paying attention to another child. I would like to give her a sign as well as a verbal command to ask her to 'wait'. I can't think of any decent signs that would convey the message.

Our PT puts her whole hand up (like in a "stop" motion) and shakes it in front of a child's face and says calmly "wait please."
Here are some more ideas from Facebook:
"I dont have one for my special needs child but for my typical kids I hold out my hand with my index finger up (similar to "shhhhh" but not finger to the lips)."
"I put a hand on my son's shoulder after asking him to wait, to let him know that I haven't forgotten about him."
"ASL letter 'W' softly shaken close to her eyes while saying please wait. Very effective. Sometimes I place my hand across her chest, when I am standing behind her at a bus stop, or in line and say we are waiting for our turn."

Thanks for the suggestions - I forgot to mention Ellie has no vision, possible light perception. We have decided to go with a hand on the shoulder and it seems to be working already. Once she is walking I will progress to hand across the chest.
Thanks Kate
