What social media do you find most helpful/are most active in? I'm a new parent looking to learn!

Would like to find groups/communities that I can learn more about how to help my kid and advocate for better resources at our local schools. Thanks!

I'd say the best places to find groups to join online are Yahoo Groups and Facebook. I like Yahoo Groups because they tend to be active and have in depth conversations; I like Facebook groups because they can get a bit more personal since you can actually see photos of people who are participating and go check out their profiles or friend them.
On Yahoo, you could join the BVI-Parents group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BVI-Parents/
Or look for groups that are related to your child's diagnosis. My son has LCA and Joubert Syndrome, so I'm on the LCA and JS groups:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LCA/
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/joubertsyndrome/
On Facebook you might want to look for groups specific to you area, like this group in Ohio:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/parentsofblind.children/
Or your child's diagnosis, like the MAPS group:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/123750425284/
My son doesn't have Micro/Anophthalmia, but I do love that MAPS group - the parents on that group are so supportive and smart!
