Ivan is having a great time swimming at the Greene pool

I’ve been taking my son, Ivan, to the Greene pool at the Fernald Center in Waltham for about two years now. He’s learning how to move independently, kick his legs, hold his breath, splash, and just have a great time! It’s amazing how much he loves the water.

But now the Greene pool is most likely going to be shut down by the end of the month! It’s a large, free, indoor heated therapy pool for children and adults with special needs—and there is nothing else at all like it anywhere in the area. What are we going to do?

You can help by contacting Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick or Waltham Mayor Jeannette McCarthy and telling them that you want to see this pool remain open to the public.

For more information about the pool, you can read this article in the Waltham Daily News Tribune or contact the members of the Fernald Reuse Committee.

Thank you for your support!
