iPad Grant for Children with CVI!

The Little Bear Sees website (a wonderful site dedicated to helping families with children with CVI) just announced their new program, Little Bear Gives!

The focus of Little Bear Gives will be to provide CVI iPad packages to families in need who have children with CVI.

That's right - they're getting ready to give away an iPad (plus some great accessories) to a child with CVI!

Little Bear Sees believes the iPad can be an amazingly powerful tool in the life of a child with CVI. iPads are uniquely suited to the needs of those with CVI because they are backlit, easy to interact with, and there is a huge variety of apps available to suit the particular needs and preferences of each child.

Their CVI iPad package will include:

iPad and CVI book for the giveaway

All applications for the first round must be submitted by 8/30/12 to be considered. The first recipient will be chosen by 9/15/12. This is only the first iPad package giveaway. Qualified applications not chosen will be kept on file and considered for future giveaways.

If you would like to be considered for an iPad, please fill out the online Little Bear Gives Application or download the PDF of the application. Anyone who has a child with CVI is welcome to apply!

* You must have an iTunes account in order to receive the app.

Are you having any other programs or grants for iPads for children with cvi. I have two students with cvi who could benefit and have financial limitations.

I have a CVI student in K5 and his mother has been asking me about how much it would be to purchase an Ipad for her son and when I told her she nearly choked for she knows that she cannot afford it. I was able to use an Ipad from our office twice a week with her son and he really enjoys the glow art app. see/hear app and others.
