New Digital Talking Book Machines

The National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (NLS) is working on switching over their audio collection of books and magazines to a new digital format. That means that it's time to get your hands on the new Digital Talking Book Machine!

The new machines are much smaller and lighter than the old cassette players, and the hope is that the digital cards that you will receive in the mail will last longer and produce better quality.

Call your local Talking Book Library to find out how to get your own machine, but hang on to your old cassette player for a while, too. They are still in the process in converting their catalogue over to digital, so for a while you'll be receiving both formats. Click here to learn more.
