Stem Cells Replace Corneas

Researchers at the University of New South Wales are perfecting a technique which uses stem cells grown on a contact lens to re-grow and replace damaged corneas.

The procedure is both relatively safe and inexpensive and since it relies on the use of the patient's own stem cells, rejection of the new cornea isn't an issue.
