The acclaimed MTV documentary program, True Life, recently aired an episode called I'm Losing My Sight that follows three young people dealing with different types of visual impairments.

Jeremy is a college student with Leber's Hereditary Optic Neuropathy (LHON). He's lost most of his central vision and talks about how he is able to get around with the limited vision he still has. Blanca has Stargardt's Disease and is expecting her first child. Like Jeremy, she is also legally blind and worries about further vision loss in the future.

Another teen, Austin, experienced complications in routine dental surgery and is now completely blind and also struggles with speech and motor issues. He is working with professionals to learn how to live independently.

The three talk about their worries and concerns, but also do their best to stay positive. As Jeremy says, "with the help of my friends and assistive technology, I'm able to lead a normal life."
