Dealing with Behavior Issues in Kids who are Blind

Tim Harshorne talking about blind childrens' behavior issues in webcast

Perkins has just uploaded a new webcast with Dr. Timothy Hartshorne talking about behavioral difficulties in children with CHARGE Syndrome.

Children diagnosed with CHARGE have both vision and hearing impairments, so of course it can be difficult for them to interact with the world around them. As Dr. Hartshorne says, it's as if the kids are saying, "How do I move and function in a world that doesn't always make sense to me?"

This can lead to outbursts or other inappropriate behaviors and this is true for kids with other sensory impairments as well, not just kids with CHARGE. Dr. Hartshorne explains where these behaviors come from and how we can deal with them.
