How do you soothe a tired, cranky, and stuffy-nosed baby when they have a cold? The best way to comfort your child is to get all that gunk out of their nose, but those bulky and inefficient manual nasal aspirators rarely do the job well.

Recently I learned that BébéSounds made an electric nasal aspirator that was supposed to work wonders. I was very sceptical but decided to try it out. I'm here to report that this aspirator really is a wonder!

There's a really bad cold making it's way through my son's preschool right now. My son of course picked up the bug and had an awful time dealing with his runny nose. But as luck would have it, I had just ordered our new aspirator and was able to put it to the test.

Just a quick run over the nose with this battery operated nasal aspirator and we were good to go! It's easy to use, easy to clean, and despite some concerns I had about sound, it's really not that loud at all.

Of course, I'm not saying my son enjoy it. Far from it. He absolutely hates having his nose aspirated, electrically or otherwise. But the electric nasal aspirator did get the job done much better and much faster than the manual aspirator, and, really, what more could you ask for?

And, I would say that my son seems to have recovered much faster than any of the other kids in his school. Is that because we were able to keep his nasal passages clear? I think so. Also, with all the negative news about nasal decongestant medications, it was nice knowing we could keep our son clear and comfortable without having to rely on medications.
