Songs from the Baobab: African Lullabies & Nursery Rhymes
Songs from the Baobab is a new collection of African lullaby songs sung in eleven different languages, representing the rich cultures of ten countries from the coasts of Senegal and Mali to the savannahs and forests of Rwanda and the Republic of the Congo. It's beautifully done as well as being interesting and educational.
The CD also comes with a picture book full of vibrant colors and dynamic images. For children with low vision, this book may be mesmerizing. For children with little or no vision, they can listen to their parents read the story and then enrich the experience by listening to the beautiful music on the CD. This is truly a collection that will be enjoyed by the whole family.
The songs are both rich and soothing, perfect for relaxing, napping or even (dare I say it) sleeping through the night! The songs also include sounds from indigenous instruments which are just lovely and a great way to spark discussions on how different cultures make music.
