A New Mobility Technology for Blind Users: Lumen Smart Glasses

Researchers continue to develop exciting new tools to support independence for people who are blind or visually impaired. One emerging technology that recently caught our attention is Lumen smart glasses, developed by the team at DotLumen in Romania.

Lumen glasses are designed to help blind users move safely through real-world environments by detecting obstacles, including both stationary objects and moving hazards. The device uses advanced sensors and feedback systems to guide users while walking, helping them avoid collisions and navigate more confidently.
According to the developers, the goal of Lumen is to provide greater independence in everyday mobility, especially in busy or unpredictable environments.
