Best Facial Recognition Monitor: Simshine Smart Baby Monitor
No products found.
Simshine Baby is a smart AI baby monitor that connects to your home WiFi network and sends video and data directly to your phone through the SimHome app.
The Simshine monitor offers breathing and face covering detection and can alert you when your baby is crying or when he moves outside the “fenced” area you draw on the camera feed. Simshine can also play lullabies for your baby if he wakes and starts to fuss, but my favorite feature is the facial recognition that allows it to notify you when your baby’s face is covered and also takes cute snap photos of your baby and stores them in the library.
The Simshine monitor is adorably shaped like a little whale and comes in yellow, pink, or blue. It can be set on a shelf or mounted to the wall. The Simshine Baby Pro is shaped like a dinosaur and comes with an install post that gives you a better view of your baby’s crib.
The SimHome app is completely free and even the sleep tracking and video timeline are subscription free. Simshine also sells doorbell and security cameras that can be managed through the same app, so everything is easily accessible in one place!

Best Breathing Monitor: Nanit Pro Smart Baby Monitor & Wall Mount
No products found.
With a high awareness of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome in our society, many parents are concerned about their child’s sleeping safety. This baby monitor is the perfect solution for sleepy parents looking for peace of mind.
The Nanit Pro Smart Baby Monitor comes with a soft band that wraps around your baby’s stomach. This enables the breathing monitor feature. This band doesn’t use electronics but instead allows the camera to read the baby’s movements and breathing.
As the camera monitors your baby’s breathing and your baby’s sleep habits, it tracks the data. This data can be accessed in your account so you can see your baby’s sleep quality. The sleep tracking, educational insights, tips, and support come free for a year with your purchase.
Another unique feature is the digital memory book. This baby monitor allows you to collect and share sweet moments from the video feed that you don’t want to forget.
Some parents report that their WiFi baby monitors don’t allow them to use the audio monitor while in another app. This baby monitor allows you to listen in to your baby’s room while running other apps or even while your phone is in lock-screen mode.
The Nanit Pro comes with a wall mount, but you’re able to purchase a travel stand if you’d prefer. However, the breathing monitor will not work when the camera is on a travel stand.
We think the breathing monitor capability makes this the best baby monitor for ensuring safe sleep.

Busy parents don’t need to know about every sound that their baby monitor detects. No parent wants their phone going off every 5 minutes for things like a dog barking or the fan blowing past the camera. This baby monitor can detect true crying almost as accurately as a veteran parent.
The Lollipop Baby Monitor with True Crying Detection won’t bother you with unnecessary notifications. With a 96% accuracy rate, this smart baby monitor knows the difference between white noise and a crying baby. When the sound reaches a certain decibel, you’ll receive a notification telling you your baby is crying.
Another fantastic feature is the boundary monitor. This baby monitor allows you to create boundaries around cribs and pack n’ plays for the camera to monitor. If your child passes those boundaries, it will alert you.
This is also the best baby monitor for sleep tracking. The system records your child’s sleep patterns, allowing you to discover what makes a good night’s sleep. You can check on your sleeping baby at any time with the night vision feature.

FAQS
Do I really need a WiFi baby monitor?
Baby monitors are part of baby gear essentials every parent could benefit from. Even if you stay at home with your baby, you’ll likely still find it helpful.
Using a smart monitor allows you to step outside in the backyard, take a nap, or have some quiet time while your baby is sleeping. You won’t have to worry about missing their cry when they wake.
Baby monitors are even useful in the older years. For example, if you find yourself sleep training a toddler, you might appreciate video surveillance. Or you can use it to monitor the playroom while you’re in the kitchen.
Why choose a WiFi baby monitor over others?
WiFi baby monitors are becoming a more popular choice than standard baby monitors. And for good reason! Here are a few reasons why you might consider a WiFi baby monitor:
- Can view baby from any location
- Can store video footage (With a MicroSD card or storage plan)
- Can control the monitor from your phone
- Can use multiple cameras at once (If your monitor allows)
If you want a monitor that doesn’t require an internet connection, you might prefer a standard baby monitor. However, you will lose the ability to move out of range and still check on your baby.
What should I look for in a WiFi baby monitor?
When you’re looking for the best baby monitor, here are a few features and factors to keep in mind:
Storage: Some monitors come with storage capabilities like MicroSD cards or subscription plans. This can be helpful in case you want to save footage or check on your baby later.
Camera: Make sure the camera has night vision so you can still see your baby in the dark. And if you want to use multiple cameras, check that your monitor is compatible.
Sound: You’ll want to be able to hear your baby crying or cooing from wherever you are. Look for a monitor with two-way audio so you can soothe your baby even when you’re not in the room.
Extra features: Some baby monitors come with extra features like temperature sensors, breathing monitoring capabilities, or motion sensors for specific zones. You’ll need to decide what’s most important to you. Many of these features might only be included in a more expensive baby monitor.
Deciding on what features you’d like will help you choose the best WiFi baby monitor for your needs.
